Tiyende Pamodzi Against Poverty is a national civil society millennium development goals and global call to action against poverty Zambian chapter.
The aim of the initiative is to STAND UP and SPEAK OUT to demand government commitment in eradicating poverty and hunger by the year 2015 as was promised by world leaders at the 2000 United Nations Millennium Summit.

Our activities will demand for political will and political courage. Tiyende Pamodzi Against Poverty is calling for action from the world’s leaders to meet their promises to end poverty and inequality.

What are MDGs?
In the year 2000, 189 world leaders agreed to do everything in their power to reduce the world’s poverty.  189 Heads of State and Governments promised to end poverty by 2015. The MDGs are strong due to the fact that they present a holistic approach to the fight against poverty.

They adopted the Millennium Development Goals as a common global framework to eradicate poverty and its root causes by 2015
